Recommend hiking/nature walks - California Coastal

Recommended Posts

Hello All,

One more question....I will be on the 10/5 California Coastal cruise. I love to go hiking, and/or take nature walks. Any suggested hiking places at our ports of call (SF, LA, Santa Barbara, SD)? Any within walking distance of where we dock? Thank you very much for any suggestions.

Have a nice day.

lots in SF..

look at http://www.511.org and take bus over to Mt Davidson...highest point in SF. bus would take maybe an hour...hike for 20 minutes.

hike from fisherman's wharf along crissy field, ft point and then south on coastal trail to baker beach. it goes also to the cliff house further south.

take ferry over to angel island and hike around or up to top.

take bus to muir woods and hike the trails in the redwoods. look at transit site..you should be able to get there by public bus.

or take bus to pantoll up on mt tam...hike in woods or down to stinson beach.

or even just take geary bus out to cliff house and hike down ocean beach.

O

I like the filbert steps too..angel island is the closest wild spot...
