Harriett_Frean Posted September 29, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 29, 2013 I was on a Princess cruise a couple of years ago and all electrical items in the cabin were hard-wired in, there were no sockets available for hairdryers etc. though the shower room had a 2 pin shaver socket. This year we are booked on the Thomson Spirit in a deluxe cabin. My partner uses a CPAP machine. Are there 3-pin sockets available to plug the machine in at night or will I need to bring an adaptor? Will there be a necessity for an extension cable? Will I need to inform anyone prior to boarding that we have a piece of electrical medical equipment with us? Many thanks. :)
Malch_uk Posted September 29, 2013 #2 Share Posted September 29, 2013 Hi Harriett, Welcome to Cruise Critic and to Thomson. On Spirit there are usually 2 sockets in each cabin. One European 2 (round) pin 220v and one US 2 (flat) pin 110v. They are on the wall just above the surface of the dressing table. You will need one of each type of adaptor and possibly a 4-way extension block if you have lots of chargers etc. to plug in. There will also be a socket for the TV and fridge (if you have one) but not sure what type they are.
