Cancellation of Cruisetours (pre/post) in 2015

Hello fellow cruisers. Has anyone else recently been notified by Celebrity that previously booked post Cruisetours were cancelled. We had booked post cruise trip with X to Macchu Picchu in 2015. Received a call earlier this week to say due to small number of participants the post cruise was cancelled. How can a ship know 18 months out that it is not going to get the number of people to fill a tour as big as going to MP. (They only take 50 people) We really want to see this spectacular place and if X cannot take us we are looking at other options. Any suggestions from those that have been to MP before should we book an outside touring company for this stage of the trip? Any suggestions of companies recommended? You can email me at

Must be something company wide- lots of discussion on the Royal Caribbean thread about cancelled tours, and I noticed today looking at options for our upcoming Silhouette tour that there were some things there that are no longer.

 

Maybe they're shaking up the companies they use and restructuring the whole shore excursion process? Not sure...but something is definitely going on...

We have just had the phone call cancelling our cruise tour in China 2015.

Funny how when we booked this cruise the person at Celebrity said there were only two spaces left on the cruise tour!!! Now they are saying they cant fill the spaces!!

I know the economy is bad but when they phoned to cancel they didn't even appear to be very sorry and said if we wanted to cancel the cruise we could have our deposit back!! She acted as if she was doing us a favour!!
