cs4225 Posted October 7, 2013 #1 Share Posted October 7, 2013 We just got back from our Sapphire Princess Coastal cruise from Vancouver BC. I decided to spend some money and booked a 3 nights package at the Fairmont Waterfront. We arrived at the airport around 10 am and met a Princess Representative who took us to the taxi stand where she gave the driver a voucher to cover the cost of the ride. The cost of the ride was $43 because we got stuck in some road construction:rolleyes: We checked in at the Fairmont and was pleased that our rooms were ready. The hotel and staff were really nice. There's a food court connected to the hotel if you don't want to eat at the hotel's restaurant (expensive). We walked a short distance to Gastown for most of our lunch and dinner. Also from the food court there's a tunnel that takes you to Canada Place. This helped because it rained on disembarkation day and this storm system also caused us to miss Astoria. On the day the cruise was to leave our instructions that we received when we checked in said to leave our luggage by the door for pick up around 8 am. It also said to meet with a Princess Rep in the lobby between 8 and 10 am with our documents. When we met with her she issued our cruise card and told us that we didn't have to stand in the check in line at Canada Place and that she would escort the people who booked this package at 10:30 if we wanted to. We decided to walk under the tunnel to Canada Place after we checked out of our room which was about 12 noon. It took about an hour to get through security but after that we waited for a couple of minutes before we were allowed to board the Sapphire. Another surprise was that when we got to our cabins our luggage was there to greet us.
DrivesLikeMario Posted October 7, 2013 #2 Share Posted October 7, 2013 Wow! How nice - and rare - to have your luggage waiting for you at your cabin. Sounds like the hotel was a good choice and worth it to you. Thanks for the information and welcome home!
