Best diving in the world

Sounds cold. What do you see there?
It is. It has been at pretty constant 45f all the times I've diving in British Columbia.

What you can see is wolf eels, giant pacific octopus, anemones, nudibranch (like very colorful slugs) shrimp, sea stars, the occasional seal, and lots of other marine life.

Here are some photo galleries:

Quadra which is across from Campbell River

Nanaimo which has some great wreck diving.

Wolf Eels They were from a site near Victoria BC

To be honest, I haven't been to the south pacific, which is where I'd really like to dive. It is possible that there is better diving there than BC. At least it would be easier diving ;)

Beautiful photos. I didn't realize you had so many nudibranch in cold waters. Do try Indo-Pacific islands. Unlike Tahiti they are still unspoiled. Wetsuit is easier than dry suit, too.

  • 4 years later...

I just came back from the Misool archepelago in Raja Ampat, northwest tip of Papau, Indonesia in the coral triangle. I see why it's called the epicenter of marine diversity. To support this much sea life, the water is pluncton rich, and that means clarity sometimes isn't as good as other places I've been to. But amazing bazzar creatures!!! Monster grouper, sea horses, stone fish, crocodile fish, tasselled wobbegong ..... Oh, My!!!
