How early of a flight would you book out of San Juan. We will be on the valor in April and our flight home is at 11:45. Does that give us enough time provided there are no delays with the ship?

As long as there aren't any delays in/with the ship you should be fine. Ship gets in very early in the morning.

I have a fear of this. We once missed a flight home out of Miami because we cut it too close and was rerouted through O'hare where weather caused a 6 hour shutdown. This was a trip where we took our then 8-year-old with us. I don't think I was ever so happy to be home after that!

For our trip to Puerto Rico in January I booked the flight home for Monday morning because SW didn't offer a good return flight time on Sunday (6:45am or 5:30pm) so I booked the AM flight out on Monday morning. The plus was that these tickets were $100 less overall than the Sunday flight which mostly pays for the hotel room that night!
