? about Kauai beaches

So is the dock near any good beaches? We want to know if we'll be able to walk off the cruise ship and get to any nice beaches either a short walk or a cab ride away. I'm afraid I'm "over-planning" so I just want to make sure that if we don't book an excursion for both days on Kauai, we'll have something to do!

About a 10 minute walk from the pier is one off Kauais best beaches .... At least I think.

It is Kalapaki Beach. It sits at the foot of the Marriott Resort. We have swam there many times, and is also a family friendly beach.
