I think he meant Salvation Army as in thrift shop....sometimes using similies assumes knowledge that may or may not exist....

Ah, the people I know who are with the Salvation Army are more involved with their outreach to people whoes life has been badly affected by alcohol so to me,at first, it seemed strange to connect the 'party ship' atmosphere usually associated with Carnival to the Sally Ann. But then it maybe makes the point that different people see and remember different parts of organizations and of cruiselines:)
