DOWNHILL walking tour through old San Juan?

clueless

Recommended Posts

We've done the forts and major sites. We just want to stroll through the streets, visit interesting shops. We are not in the best shape so are looking for a downhill route that we can follow. Any suggestions on exactly where to start so that we can wend our way downhill and just browse and possibly grab a bite to eat?

When you get off the ship, you are at sea level.

You will have to ride transportation of one sort or another to get into the shopping area and can work your way downhill. The major stores which are level are the new Ralph Lauren large store across the street from the docks and CVS......

Most of the restaurants and shops are up the hills.

I have done a self walking tour on our own from Frommers. After that trip the next time we took a 10 cab up to El Morro and walked downhill much easier as there are a lot of uphill climbs even for in shape people, especially when it is hot. Check out Frommers website for shopping ideas and a nice self guided walking tour.
