Smoking on the Opera

I heard there is a strong smoking smell in the MDR.

Any truth to this?

I was on Opera in August and I never smelt smoke in the MDR. The casino and a couple of the bars smelt and the top rows in the theatre did when the doors were opened, but the rest of the ship was ok. I hate the smell of smoke and I was very concerned about going on MSC because of this and to be honest it has not been a major problem. I don't use the casino so thus could be an issue for non smokers. The only time I gave moved is when I have been on the back of the ship and I could find plenty of non smoking areas.

I can't imagine that the MDR would smell badly of smoke since smoking is not allowed in there. Perhaps those non-smokers that have complained had the bad luck of sitting right next to a heavy smoker?

No truth in it at all. You can't smoke in the MDR so it most definitely does not smell of it and I've spent around 70 nights on the ship.
