Wow, really sorry to hear this. We were impressed with her when we met her in S.C. I really felt she listened to our concerns openly and honestly, without stepping over the line with any immediate false promises or pat answers that - quite honestly - I was expecting to hear.

 

I wish Ms. Conover the best. She is a class act.

Sorry, I read the translated version, but here only the Norwegian version links . The owner of SD placed 3 companies in bankruptcy today in Norway if I am reading correctly. I believe one is the corporate parent of SD- to whom he transferred ownership back in 2010 when he had other financial difficulties.

Sorry, but neither my English, nor my Norwegian language skills help me to understand the details, even the German translation didn't help.

 

Don't you think that this financial problem will impact on SD dramatically? :eek:

 

Perhaps my booked Seadream cruise in September 2014 will always stay in my mind as a dream and will not come off ... :confused:

Hi,

 

I just wanted to post a quick message here saying that the article mentioned in this thread is several years old. When you look at the article you get today's date instead of the date the article was written. The matter discussed in the article was resolved years ago with a positive outcome.

 

(I have not forgotten about my promise to respond about the "kids" topics, but I have been busier than expected lately.)

Conover gone: the ONLY person who actively sought opinion and genuinely listened to us. She was the real deal.

I am certain she would have suggested changes that would have gone some way of addressing passengers concerns.

 

Now it's back with Artle and his beaten down, old retainer "yes men" ! God help us all (crew alike with some of the appalling choice of charters the crew have had to endure) !

 

When certain crew call it a day: then we will too, meanwhile I'll do no bookings from late Spring to early Autumn.

 

And to the appeasers and the "let's keep it chummy" contributors: I make no apologies.

This is serious guys.

An extremely talented and professional in the industry who is respected and is of long standing, is no longer there to stick up for us and even enhance our experience.

 

Larry, now Pamela.

Those dates much better :) But please read the entire article you posted about Hadeland (towards the end) and you will see that both companies are doing fine financially and are profitable. Google Translate does makes a slight mistake by translating 89 million Norwegian Kroner into 89 million dollars (at least on my computer).

GoRRRdon, I think you are over-reacting. You have no idea why Ms. Conover resigned -- nor does Larry have anything to do with this. He left years ago. And do you really know Artle????

 

It is not true that the staff does not listen and does not care what is written here and that they do not take our concerns seriously. But it is a business and there are sometimes competing issues. We can all hope that they are ultimately resolved satisfactorily.

 

And crew leaves for lots of reasons and I happen to know that the owner does a lot for crew -- including internal promotions and external schooling and progression.

 

I'm only posting this once, unlike your posting on every available thread.

 

I really think you need to lighten up.
