JTLuvsMartinis Posted November 10, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 10, 2013 Hi there, I'm sailing on the Breakaway on 12/1, and Geoffrey Zakarian is scheduled to be on board during the trip. I heard that there was a special Chef's Table hosted by Zakarian during the 11/3 voyage. Can anyone share more information on the Chef's Table experience? If you attended, was it worth it? I appreciate any information you can share. Thanks in advance!

Got Tequila? Posted November 10, 2013 #4 Share Posted November 10, 2013 (edited) So far all I've heard is the price, $130 pp. They said it was offered twice during the week, and that there was a waiting list. That was posted on the 11/3 Breakaway roll call by someone on the ship at the time. Hopefully you'll get some reviews in the next couple of days. :) Edited November 10, 2013 by Got Tequila? Breakaway11032013 Posted November 27, 2013 #5 Share Posted November 27, 2013 We posted a quick overview of the meal in another post - http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?p=40716807. But our 30 second take is, if you were planning on going to Ocean Blue anyway and are a big wine drinker then yes you'll likely enjoy the Chef Table experience. If you want a unique dining experience, time with Mr. Zakarian, or a good value you'll probably be best to avoid it. The food is standard Ocean Blue offering but in a tasting menu fashion (eg more courses, smaller servings) so just look at other Ocean Blue reviews for comments on food quality. Note they did not offer a Officers OR regular Chef Table experience on our cruise so this may be your only chance for a "special" meal.

LisaNY85 Posted December 1, 2013 #7 Share Posted December 1, 2013 Wow! He'll be a the trip?! I'd say take the tickets, since it'll be you and maybe 4000 other people trying to get a spot! Although I didn't enjoy Ocean Blue's menu. The food was mediocre, and greasy!!!!
