Hi,

We are sailing on the CB out of Houston on Jan 25. We have a group of about 25 flying in from Buffalo, NY the day before. Any suggestions on a good hotel that may be close to restaurants/stores as we will not have any transportation. We will be arranging shuttle service to hotel and port. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks so much!:)

Google Kemah hotels. You can compare them, read reviews on tripadvisor.com and you should find one that works for you. The Kemah Boardwalk has lots of little shops and some good restaurants. Some of the shops are not open in the winter.

We stayed at the Super 8 in Webster after the repo cruise but you would likely be looking for something near the airport with a shuttle to it? Check out the gulf coast departures forum. There are some good ideas there. We are also on the Jan 25 departure. You could join the roll call board also.

The Kemah Boardwalk is about 7 miles from the cruise port. Boardwalk Inn or Holiday Inn Kemah are both within easy walking distance to restaurants and shopping. Weather is unpredictable that time of year but it is a charming area for walking, if the weather cooperates. Webster is not quite as close and is more spread out and not as walkable. If you would like to visit the Johnson Space Center before embarkation, Webster would be a good choice.
