If I understand correctly, any on board credits you've accumulated (from booking promos or from purchasing in advanced, etc), get deducted first, and then the remainder is charged to your card of choice.

 

Does anyone know if you buy credits in advance, does this lower the amount of a hold they put onto your card?

We are going to be on the Liberty Med cruise this coming June. We have cruised on RCCL several times, including one other Med cruise. We choose a private excursion to maximize what we see and the ease and convenience. We always use a private tour company recommended on Cruise Critic and it has worked out beautifully. You'll have a wonderful time. We've been on Liberty's sister ship, Freedom of the Seas. We can't wait.
