Hi we are on Azura 22 Feb A404A, tried to book a whale watching trip with Island Style Fishing Jerry Daway who i had read was the best but it would appear he is full on the 25th when we visit Dominica, all the others only seem to sail on a Sunday which is no good and reading the reports of the ships excursions whale watching seemed nobody watched any whales!!! we would welcome any tips or other suggestions as we are really keen to do a trip here or elsewhere if possible... You may have had a lucky escape being unable to book Captain Jerry, We booked nim back in 2011 and he didnt show up even after taking our deposit by CC. According to trip advisor this has happened to others as well. We lost a full day of our cruise and the locals dont rate him also.

Cant think of anyone else in Dominica but could definitely recommend Hackshaws in St Lucia. If you email Chris hackshaw he,ll let you know whats available for your date. We would particularly recommend the Whale watch special. If Chris cant fix you up try his cousin at Captain mikes charters.

We did whale watching in Hawaii in February, saw plenty of whales. The best view we had was when 2 whales swam past when we were standing on our balcony. I hope you are good sailors as when near the whales the boat must remain stationary to avoid disturbing them and it does bob around rather a lot.

Hi John

We went on the Azura last Christmas and New Year and did the whale watching in Dominica with the P & O excusion and so glad we did. It was brilliant, saw lots of whales and dolphins. One whale came up to us with her pup, the pup stayed with us for ages and was really inquisitive and playful, a wonderful experience. I would definately recommend it.
