Nightlockkk Posted November 20, 2013 #2 Share Posted November 20, 2013 I just went on the Victory in September, I do remember having sushi after dinner outside of the casino. They serve it on that little cart during dining hours, Haha. I don't have a review of the Victory but I absolutely loved the ship, and so did my friends. We are considering another cruise on her in the spring with your itinerary. :) Happy sailing!
DEBnGAB Posted November 20, 2013 #3 Share Posted November 20, 2013 During our Oct 14 sailing, no more sushi cart. It has been replaced with the "taste bar" that serves different apps from the Carnival speciality venues such as Cucina, Red Frog, etc...
New2Cruising24 Posted November 20, 2013 #4 Share Posted November 20, 2013 Loved the Victory, great ship! We did the same Key West, Cozumel itinerary for our DS birthday this past August. It was great and yes there was sushi on promenade - near casino (I think it was 5-8pm) or something like that...listed in Fun Times. Happy Cruising! agc291 Posted November 21, 2013 #5 Share Posted November 21, 2013 I am sad that they got rid of the sushi but I we did love the Victory. We are re booked on her for February. We also did your itin on the Destiny, if you are interested you can check out my reviews in my signature and I can try to answer any questions if you have any! rollissaria Posted November 22, 2013 #6 Share Posted November 22, 2013 We were married on the Victory in July this year and absolutely LOVED this ship. It never really seemed crowded to me, except maybe the first day, but that's to be expected as folks are still trying to figure out the flow. I loved the layout of the chairs by the main pool, always plenty of room and action. I never made it to Serenity as we had our young kids with us, but I peeked in and it was calling my name, lol. We didn't like our dining room staff, but everyone else we ran into loved theirs so ours was just bad luck. The food was always good, room service was timely and efficient, and the staff we encountered always, always had a smile and hello for us. By far one of my most favorite vacations! I just really enjoyed this ship and the Sea theme...very beautiful even if it is showing it's age a little bit here and there. I am still in awe at how hard the staff worked day and night keeping this ship gleaming. It's a beauty! If you have any questions let me know, I researched the heck out of her before we left, and took a billion and one pictures while we were on her. :) Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app
CruiseGirl3434 Posted November 22, 2013 Author #7 Share Posted November 22, 2013 Oh thank you all for the info!! We are sooo excited to be taking this cruise and experience the Victory!! I hope they do have the sushi bar because I LOVE it and my husband does not lol :p But Rollissaria I would love to hear your review and look at pics! Cant think of any specific questions but I am on here everyday and trying to scope the ship out!! Its so much fun! We definitely want to use the Serentity Deck since we will be kidless for the first time in a long time LOL :D
LUPY48 Posted November 22, 2013 #8 Share Posted November 22, 2013 One helpful hint: we did the same itin. When we arrived in KW I went to a CVS and bought a styrofoam cooler for the cabin. The steward would ice it up twice a day. Worked great and didn't leak.
