Sheffie Posted July 13, 2005 #2 Share Posted July 13, 2005 You HAVE to do Stingray City! It will be the highlight of your cruise. We used Captain Bryan's Buccaneer and had a fantastic time. Most people on CC use a private excursion. They are great: they have fewer people on them, go to more stops, and are cheaper! Here is a list that I have compiled of the recommendations of people here on CC: Sailboats: Buccaneer: http://caymanislandsdiscounts.com/Stingray_City_Buccaneer_Excursion.htm Captain Bryan’s: http://grandcaymancruiseexcursions.com/StingrayCityCaptBryans.htm Motorized: Captain Marvin’s: http://www.captainmarvins.com Nativeway: http://www.nativewaywatersports.com/shiptours.html Sotos: http://www.sotoscruises.com Kelly’s Watersports http://www.kellyswatersports.com __________________ Have a great cruise! kenandlaura06 Posted July 15, 2005 Author #3 Share Posted July 15, 2005 Thank you! I keep hearing that stingrays are the way to go in GC, but I am a little squeamish about it. FI has convinced me to do the dolphin experience at one of our stops on our cruise, but that may be all of the creatures I can tolerate on my honeymoon!:)
wineandbeach Posted July 15, 2005 #4 Share Posted July 15, 2005 We did a private charter with Nativeway. 11 in our group on a big beautiful catamaran. We went to stingray city and snorkeling. Even if you don't like the stingrays (which you will once you see them), you will love being out in the beautiful water far from land and being able to stand and relax. Then we went snorkeling which was a lot of fun. It was definitely a great excursion.

ccrn Posted July 19, 2005 #11 Share Posted July 19, 2005 In GC we used Soto's cruises. They were great, and did a great job getting people comfortable with the rays. They even got my 4 year old triplet nephews comfortable enough to kiss them. We did the royal dolphin swim in Cozumel and loved that too.

BMW325 Posted July 19, 2005 #13 Share Posted July 19, 2005 Just confirmed my Rays, Reef, and Rum Point excursion with NativeWay for September 6 (will arrive on the Empress of the Seas). If their dedication to customer service PRIOR to arriving is anything like their excursions, we are in for a GREAT time. These folks have been extremely helpful with my questions and know we will have a great time. So far, I recommend them highly and I'll post again in September after we return.
