Buying local yarn at cruise ports?

Does anyone know of any places that sell natural undyed yarn from the local sheep at Tasmanian or NZ cruiseports - or do any of the farms that can be visited on excursions sell their own products?

We will be visiting Hobart, Port Arthur, Dunedin, Akaroa & Wellington.

Thanks!

Now don't quote me because I wasn't looking for yarn but I seem to remember quite a few 'yarn' shops all over the place on my recent NZ cruise (via Melb & Hobart).

If memory serves me right there was a yarn shop in Salamanca Square in Hobart, which is close to the cruise terminal. Also there seemed to be yarn shops in all the towns I visited in New Zealand, they are very 'wool' centric there (all those sheep I suppose).

The only downside would be as it is tourist areas and specialised local yarns they would be quite expensive.

Knitting or crocheting an item with a wool from each Port would be a lovely momento.
