not2old Posted November 29, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 29, 2013 Hello, Does anyone know of any horse and carriage rides available in Nassau? When we were there 5 years ago they were available but wondering if they are available now? Thanks!
Retired LEO Posted November 29, 2013 #2 Share Posted November 29, 2013 They're all lined up right by the gate.
emeraldcity Posted November 30, 2013 #3 Share Posted November 30, 2013 Don't go with high expectations. We were underwhelmed by what had been touted as a historical tour.
bm6pm5 Posted December 2, 2013 #4 Share Posted December 2, 2013 There are lots of them right outside the gate as you leave the pier.
curious_st Posted December 7, 2013 #5 Share Posted December 7, 2013 I wanted to go on a horse and carriage ride when in Nassau in 2012. Once the DH and I saw the horses, we decided not to do it. All of the horses were in sad shape. They were so skinny that you could count their ribs. This was true of all of the vendors we saw at the time. If you decide to take a horse and carriage ride, please be conscientious and find a vendor with healthy looking horses.

I agree 100%. ... and I notice you're from Kentucky, where the horses are well cared-for. I took a carriage ride in Louisville a few years ago and it was a delightful experience. That is probably why I was so disappointed in the Nassau experience.
