How's the water mid December at Stingray City?

Do many people go to Stingray City this time of year and how cold is the water? I will be there in about 10 days.

Last year, we went in November and the water was pretty cold. I'm rarely cold, but I had to take a minute to catch my breath once I got into the open waters. Water near the coast is much warmer than the once a couple of minutes off-shore.

I've been scuba-diving there in late Nov and early January. Never needed a wet suit. Water temps comfortable.

As a guide, the following outlines our range of temperature through winter and summer.

 

Winter - November to April

72°F to 86°F during the day.

64°F to 72°F at night

Water temperature ranges between 78°F and 82°F

 

Summer - May to October

85°F to 90°F during the day.

73°F to 85°F at night

Water temperature ranges between 82°F to 86°F

 

Relative humidity varies from 68% to 92%.

I'm hoping it will be warm because we will be there 1 week from today! The marine maps at weather underground seem to indicate the water there is about 85 right now, but it changes daily. My swimming pool is usually about 82 in the middle of summer but it still feels chilly when you first get in. But then you get used to it.
