FamilyofFourtoAlaska Posted July 13, 2005 #1 Share Posted July 13, 2005 We are doing a HAL cruisetour with two nights in Denali at the Mckinley Chalet. I have not found too much about this place, but what little I have read seemed mixed to negative. Can anyone say anything to make me feel better?! Yukon Posted July 15, 2005 #2 Share Posted July 15, 2005 The Chalet was one of the first hotels at the Denali gates area that we now call "Glitter Gulch". It's average overall - I won't stay there anymore because it's incredibly busy/crowded, but the rooms are perfectly reasonable. Some of the negative comments have been because it's a modular-built place ("a bunch of trailers stacked up" was one report) - just look at it as a comfortable place to sleep.
