Have not stayed but it is often suggested -- have you checked trip advisor? :confused:

 

Best way to get downtown is a cab; figure $20-25+ each way -- I'd stay downtown instead of dropping $50 on cab fare. If you wanted to go to South Beach you could shuttle back to MIA and catch the Airport Flyer bus from there for only $2.35 each.
