Lollybees Posted December 8, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 8, 2013 I understand that we are able to bring on board two bottles of wine per cabin when we embark. Because Valor leaves so late, we were going to board at 1ish with our wine, leave it in our cabin, then go back to Saun Juan for the afternoon. When we come back to the ship can we bring another two bottles of wine?
Cruizinman Posted December 8, 2013 #2 Share Posted December 8, 2013 It happens more times than not. ;)
hftmrock Posted December 8, 2013 #3 Share Posted December 8, 2013 if you are asking if it is against the rules.... it is if you are asking if you can get away with breaking the rules... I am sure this has worked for some people. I dont think they keep records of it and I assume they will only stop you if they recognize you and remember you had wine already
Lollybees Posted December 8, 2013 Author #4 Share Posted December 8, 2013 I do know that this is against the rules, I was wondering if others had done this and we're successful.
T&Dcruisers Posted December 8, 2013 #5 Share Posted December 8, 2013 We did it. Dropped our bags, then headed back out for pop and more wine.
Vanessa L Posted December 8, 2013 #6 Share Posted December 8, 2013 We do this every single time we leave from San Juan. We typically have enough wine for the week ;) Only port this works at and I love it!!

Vitamin_Sea Posted December 9, 2013 #8 Share Posted December 9, 2013 You can buy "rum runners"...The plastic flasks. Undetectable in the scanners:cool:
golfadj Posted December 9, 2013 #9 Share Posted December 9, 2013 Its one bottle per adult not per cabin.
Vanessa L Posted December 9, 2013 #10 Share Posted December 9, 2013 (edited) Its one bottle per adult not per cabin. Or, in the case of the San Juan cruises, one bottle per adult times how many times you get off and back on the ship to bring the next bottle on :D Edited to say, this really does only work with wine, as you are going to have to put your bags through the scanners each time you re-board. They'll know the difference in liquor bottles vs. wine bottles. Also, haven't I read posts in the recent past where the run runners were caught and confiscated? I don't think they're fool proof and as long as you are a wine drinker, they are needless in San Juan. mondello Posted December 9, 2013 #11 Share Posted December 9, 2013 We were just on Conquest from San Juan to Miami last month and I brought 2 bottles twice with no problems. They had Martini & Rossi Asti Spumonte for $7.95 in the Duty-Free shop right before Security.
urbanhawk Posted December 9, 2013 #12 Share Posted December 9, 2013 Its one bottle per adult not per cabin. You're right, but it is so wrong. I am traveling solo, and since I'm paying the single supplement=2 people, makes sense for me to be able to take 2 bottles of wine on board (NOT going out of San Juan), I'll only be able to take one. But, them are the rules;)....

willydoit Posted December 9, 2013 #16 Share Posted December 9, 2013 Yes, it can be done. In fact we made three trips on and off before sailing through security with 1 bottle per person each time. No questions asked. Just off the the 11/24 sailing of the Valor

seannyice81 Posted January 24, 2014 #20 Share Posted January 24, 2014 (edited) CVS sells wine? Yes, and that one does in particular. They've realized people do this, haha. They don't have a really big selection, but its more than most other CVS stores. Edited January 24, 2014 by seannyice81
