Anybody Stayed at the Clarion Grand Boutique Hotel?

I've booked the Clarion Grand Boutique in the Garden District and would appreciate any info from anybody who has stayed there.

 

I know the streetcar line runs right by there which is a plus for us since we wanted to ride anyway. But how about the hotel itself? Was your experience a good one?

 

Also, we will have a car and can drive to nearby restaurants and stores. What would you recommend in the area? Is there a store close by that we can purchase soda to take on board the ship?

 

Thanks for any help since this will be our first experience with staying in New Orleans.

Never stayed there, but it looks nice from the outside.

 

There is a Copeland's Cheesecake Bistro in the building. A block away is Mr. John's steak house, and a Houston's is also close by. You can check their websites for menus.

 

There is a Walmart at 1901 Tchoupitoulas, about ten blocks away.

Also, it's good to know there's a WalMart close by. Any last minute items and our soda, etc. can be purchased there.
