Have you won anything at the Lattitude's party? Bingo? Art auction? Comment Card? Talent show? Enquiring minds want to know!!! :D

We won the comment card draw on the Sun in 2003. We won a bag containing a key ring, a water bottle, a beach ball, frisbee.

Maybe it was a free cruise before they read the comments:D :D

(Seriously, overall good comments but some constructive criticism.)

The ONLY souvenir I wanted to buy on our last cruise was a good, fabric NCL tote bag. I headed to the gift shop as soon as it opened ... only to find they didn't sell them ... only plastic ones. I saw CD carrying around my coveted fabric bag and he said they were contest prizes. I made sure I was in attendance at the well-attended and competitive Trivia Contest. I WON A BAG! HA! Determination ... I know this is a small item (especially compared to the free cruise as mentioned above:)) ... but, I got my bag ...

On the Dawn in 03 only two members showed up for our meet and greet. Both of use ended up winners. I won the bingo jackpot $5200 and the other member the free cruise on the Krack Its.

This started a cruise blitz. Keep in mind if you win money on a ship you have to bring it back. The onboard cruise consultant loved me. It is like lava from HI. If you take it home you run the risk of bad luck.

DH and I have won various amounts of money in the casino (from $150 to $400, either on the slots or DH plays "let it ride"); I've also won bingo ($100 - $300). We did not win anything in the casino or at bingo on the Dawn -- only ever won in the casino and bingo on the Majesty!

On our last cruise, I won a mini-facial at the Latitudes party -- that was really nice, since I don't usually go to the spa -- now I know what I'm missing!

Bennett's Cruise -- I want one of those tote bags too! Guess I'll have to "play along!"

I've never won anything on board -- but it's fun to hear all the things you've all won. I'm also happy to hear that the Krackit REALLY does have some big prizes. I always wondered about that.

Keep your stories coming. I love to hear about your good fortune!

At the Latitudes Party, my husband won 5 cards of Krackits, but then only won $2.00 off of them.

At the Trivia Contest on the Spirit, we won a canvas tote, water bottle and playing cards.

At the Pool Party on the Star, the first person to bring a Freestyle Daily won a leather bookmark. I won that and still use it.

On the Star, the lady sitting next to me at I can't remember what, won a diamond tennis bracelet.

I'm always hoping for the free cruise but no luck. On the July 31, 2005 sailing on the Star, I'm hoping my 12 year old daughter advances in the Youth Star Seeker Contest. If she wins it overall, there's the free cruise... hmmm if she takes me. Ahhh, she has to take me! She is only 12.

Great thread.... On my last trip I won 100 free Internet minutes. I also won in a shopping talk a beautiful set of pearls. My husband won a game trivia and the prizes included bag, frame, tshirt, and playing cards.

A few years back, I also won the "big" jackpot purse at the Kentucky Derby horse race. Another couple and I formed a "syndicate" and bought one of the horses for the final, big race. And we won! It was loads of fun and exciting. The purse was about $600 (not bad).

Unfortunately, based on posts here on CC, it looks like most cruise lines have dropped horse racing as an onboard activity. I still can't figure out why. They were always so popular.

P.S. In this case, my good fortune was on a Princess cruise, not NCL.

I didn't win but I have an interesting story about winning. Part of my family was in the casino playing craps and the rest of them walked up as they were handing out entrance forms for a drawing. The rest of the family left but us gamblers played on. When they did the drawing they called my Aunt's name. We were so excited for her we tried to catch up to her as she claimed her prize but couldn't find her. We later ran into them and congratulated her on her prize. She didn't know what we were talking about. We went to the cashier cage and talked to a manager about it. Eventhough she wasn't present at the drawing....which she was supposed to be....they gave her the prize eventhough someone else claimed them. My Aunt's name is Jean and the manager later said that the guy who claimed it was on the same deck, had the same last name and his first name was Eugene or Gene....lol. It was pretty cool though because she got about $1000 worth of gift certificates for various things.

My husband and I played Trivia on a Princess cruise and won some really nice suede luggage tags. In fact, they were so nice, they were stolen off of our suitcases the first time we used them.

I won $500 at Bingo on the WIND :D

But, there were 2 other winners in that game..so we had to split the jackpot:(

Oh, yeah, I also won a blackjack tournament many years ago. This was before cruise lines started to skim more and more of the proceeds, making it a revenue source rather than just a ship-sponsored activity.

My wife on the other hand has won bingo, but not the big jackpot and she participated in a "Who wants to be a Celebrity" (On Celebrity Cruise) game show and got to the $500,000.00 question, and was given a tote with a bottle of chamapagne, golf shirt, glasses case holder, pens, and a certificate for somekind of mud bath - A neat prize.

By the way: What is Krack Its???

It's a form of instant lottery card, kinda like scratch-off lottery tickets. Instead of scratching the cards to reveal whether the prize icons match, you peel away the surface layer of the card (kinda like advent calendars). If the revealed icons match, you win the prize. Most typical is winning a couple bucks but sometimes there's a free cruise given away to a Krackits winner.

On a Celebrity cruise a couple of years ago I won $1,000.00 on 25 cent slots at 10:00pm the last nite aboard. It was great because I didn't have time to lose it back to the ship. I took the entire amount home in a sealed envelope and used it for "casino" money on our trip to Las Vagas 2 months later. It was great!

Happy cruising!

I'm not much of a slots player (I normally stick to BJ in the ship's casino). But on my Med cruise back in 1997 on the Pacific Princess (the original Love Boat!), one of our port stops was Monte Carlo. It wasn't a very long port stop but I had to spend at least a little time checking out the Monte Carlo Casino. I decided to play a little slots. It was a VERY different experience from playing slots in Vegas or pretty much anywhere else I've been. That's because it's completely sedate. No bells and whistles constantly going off. No constant din. I played for five or ten minutes and then, suddenly, the reels stopped with 3 pyramids displayed. But no bells going off, which is what I'm accustomed to. And no coins dropping into the payout tray. I looked at it for a moment and figured that MUST be worth something. I was trying to decipher the payoff schedule on the front of the machine. I also noticed that a light on the top of the machine went on. Within 30 seconds or so, two men in tuxedos strolled up to me and congratulated me and asked for my passport. Apparently, if you win over a certain amount, you have to sign some official document. I assume it's for tax purposes. We went over to the cage where they paid out my winnings, which came to about $700 (not a fortune but the most that I have ever won at slots). I had just enough time to run back to the tour bus to meet my friends, who were mad that they had missed all the sedate excitement.
