Galveston hotel- need to finally pick one

I have it narrowed down to the three that I can get free with some points.. Springhill Suites, Candlewood Suites or Courtyard by Marriott. We will not have a car. I think I read that there is a target close to Candle wood, so we could get our pop to bring on the cruise. And that the Courtyard has a free shuttle.. Any thoughts or comments are appreciated. Thank you!!

None of these hotels are close to the action, so to speak. Springhill is right off the highway coming into Galveston and so is the Candlewood, but at least Candlewood is close to Target and a small strip shopping area. The Courtyard is new and on the gulf side of the island. I would call the Courtyard to check on the shuttle. If they do have a free shuttle, I would probably pick it, just because it is a new hotel and has good reviews. We have stayed at the Springhill - a nice hotel, but not close to anything so you would need a car. Candlewood, doesn't have the greatest reviews, but is within walking distance of Target. Sorry, I haven't helped much, maybe someone with better knowledge will answer.

I am staying at the new Marriott on Saturday and they say they do have a shuttle and free parking.

As previous poster said, Spring Hill is a nice place, but I wouldn't want to stay there without a vehicle.

Does anyone have any opinions on the Galveston Beach Hotel/formally HI Sunspree? :D
