petlover Posted January 14, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 14, 2014 If we pre-pay $1,000. casino credit B4 our cruise on our Princess Visa card, can we then get $500. of that back in cash at the casino? We would likely gamble the other $500. We've never pre-paid casino credit, just carried cash on board. Thanks!
paul32 Posted January 14, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 14, 2014 In my experience, our pre-paid casino cash was available for us to pick up in the Golden when we boarded. In our stateroom were notifications in $100 increments that we could redeem at the cashier's cage for cash. I choose this option because of the benefit of not having to carry cash from home to the airport and to the pier. There is also added benefit of getting the 2X Princess Rewards on my Barclays Visa by using it as the funding source.
petlover Posted January 14, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted January 14, 2014 Thanks Paul, Do they know if you spend it all in the casino? I was planning to only gamble 1/2 of the cash we get from the cage.
bulldog on water Posted January 14, 2014 #4 Share Posted January 14, 2014 Once you get the cash at the window, you can do what you want with it. They can't MAKE you gamble it! They would like you to, but that is your choice. They have put you in a position to gamble by getting you to the casino with cash in your hand, so they have done their job and most will gamble, if some don't, they will take that. petlover Posted January 14, 2014 Author #6 Share Posted January 14, 2014 Perfect! Thank you. We were on a 4 month World Cruise (different line) where we would take the maximum out at the purser's office each segment but nothing charged against our credit card until we disembarked at the end of the cruise. We put most of it in our safe and deposited it when we got home but got TONS of frequent flyer miles !
