Illinoisgal Posted January 16, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 16, 2014 Anyone sailing from or throught PR the next few weeks? I have a huge favor to ask :) My child is allergic to milk and uses almond milk. I know there is a walgreens etc there but I need toknow if they cary almond milk. We sail out of PR next month and Im hoping not to have to fly with what we will need for the week :) So if anyone is in a store in PR and could check we would appreciate it! Just let me know yes/no and where you looked .

marym933 Posted January 16, 2014 #4 Share Posted January 16, 2014 If Walgreen's doesn't carry it, there is a huge CVS right down the street.
cruisinatdawn Posted January 16, 2014 #5 Share Posted January 16, 2014 We will be in San Juan next week, I will keep my eye out to see if I see it anywhere. At this point we don't have any set plans, so I'm not making any promises that I will be able to specifically check Walgreens or CVS.
bettyboop16 Posted January 16, 2014 #6 Share Posted January 16, 2014 You could post your question on Trip Advisor San Juan travel forum. There are locals that can answer your question. Betty
aloesch Posted January 16, 2014 #7 Share Posted January 16, 2014 I'll be cruising out of PR next weekend. I actually plan to hit walgreens or cvs to pick up a few things the night before the cruise. I'd be happy to take a look if no one else does before :-)
poolreader Posted January 16, 2014 #8 Share Posted January 16, 2014 Have you asked the cruise line if they can provide the almond milk for you? I saw some being poured for a woman at the International Cafe on Princess ship. She may have brought it with her, but it wouldn't hurt to ask. Illinoisgal Posted January 17, 2014 Author #9 Share Posted January 17, 2014 thanks for all the ideas. I will call but Id rather have some one actually see it in person themselves lol. Carnival has soy milk but not almond milk. Ive heard they have a walmart somewhere and we will have over a full day , but Id rather be prepared :)
sail7seas Posted January 17, 2014 #10 Share Posted January 17, 2014 Where will you be able to store it? Doesn't it need to be refrigerated?
p2lockhart Posted January 18, 2014 #11 Share Posted January 18, 2014 Where will you be able to store it? Doesn't it need to be refrigerated? Not all brands have to be refrigerated. The kind I buy only requires refrigeration after it is opened. But the cartons are smaller than the ones that require refrigeration.
Illinoisgal Posted January 19, 2014 Author #12 Share Posted January 19, 2014 Yes they make aseptic 8oz cartoons as well as 32oz . 4 sippy cups would use a 32oz. When we sailed when she was 6m we used a container of ice and it kept her bottles ice cold .. But they do have a refrigerator for people who need actual true refrigeration for medical reasons as wel
sail7seas Posted January 19, 2014 #13 Share Posted January 19, 2014 We always have a mini bar type refrig in our HAL cabins but they don't get that cold. I call it a cooler rather than a refrigerator. But if the milk you are seeking doesn't need chilling, that's great.
cruisinatdawn Posted January 27, 2014 #14 Share Posted January 27, 2014 We stopped by CVS in San Juan last Thursday, they had both the refrigerated Silk brand of almond milk and the non refrigerated Almond Breeze brand. I forgot to look and see how much it cost. Have a great cruise!
