What is there to do on the Carnival Pride when it is cold?

Recommended Posts

Have never understood why one would cruise from a cold weather port in the winter. The first two days will be pretty much a waste, as well as the last two. To each his own.

Possibly price and a getaway. To us it is about getting away...and if I can do eight nights for under $1,000, that's a deal for us. We can barely eat out three meals a day for nine days for that much.

I believe Pride has an enclosed pool, so you should be able to use that. We were just on Splendor out of NYC and the covered pool was nicely heated for the first few days. On the second day, even though it was still cool outside, there were people sitting on deck and using the outdoor hot tubs. It absolutely was not a waste for us...and additionally there are certainly many options available for indoor activities.

We just went on the jan 12 sailing.

One pool is covered, you can use it. People still use hot tubs. We did trivia, gambled, took advantage of cheers, people watched. We had no issues keeping ourselves occupied

I love it, I avoid the sun at all costs, so warm weather on the open deck is not what attracts me to cruising. I often find too much to do on a sea day to the point that I realize by end of the day I have missed about half of what I had planned to do.

Afternoon tea, bingo, shows, trivia, karaoke.

There is lots to do...trivia, theater shows, musical performances around the ship, karaoke, board and card games, bingo, the casino, comedy shows, dance lessons and dancing. As mentioned the portion of the lido deck enclosed, has a pool and hot tub.

We like the price and it doesn't bother us to start or finish cold. On those days we relax, read, and play games.

R&R (romance and room service) for starters until you hit warmer weather

Also a great opportunity to make new friends with your fellow cruisers...play old fashion board games over drinks and actually engage in conversation with others..actually linger over a meal

Often, much like children today, we have lost the skill of being able to entertain ourselves without alot of external stimuli

Since you know the first day or two will be cold...when you are packing for your cruise, include something fun that you wanted to do but could not finf the time...now you have the time

We will be on the Pride on March 2 and we are wondering what there is to do when it is cold. The weather averages are cold in Baltimore for March, so will will not be able to go in the pool for several days.

Just returned from the Pride yesterday. We were amazed to see the numbers of people, mostly kids, who were in the pools and adults who were in the hot tubs, both inside and out. There is a pool under the glass roof so it isn't as chilly there and the pools are heated.
