I will be in St. Thomas on 3/4/14 from 10 to 6 there will only be one other ship in port. Do you think 8 hours is enough time to do ferry and have good beach time at trunk bay especially with there not being but 2 ships there.or should I just stay on st. Thomas and go to magens or coki

I think going to Trunk that day would be an excellent choice. Going on your own via taxi to the Red Hook ferry and the same for the return would be the quickest and give you the most time on the beach. Roundtrip from Havensight to Trunk would be abaout $46pp + entry fee at Trunk.

The champagne cat may also be an option through the ship if you want more time on the water than in it. But going on your own is the ideal way to get there and have enough beach time.

You should easily make the 11AM ferry from Red Hook, and even taking the 3PM return ferry to be safe you'd have a good 3 hrs on the beach. The 4PM ferry would probably get you back in time but that would be very risky as there could be any number of delays. Always nice to have a back-up ferry in the event of problems. ;)

Enjoy!

We were in St Thomas on Freedom 10 days ago. We were in port from 7-3 and did Trunk Bay. We did it through the CL however as it was almost as cheap and the boat to St John left 25 feet from the cruise ship. This was on RCCL. $35pp to St John (self guided tour). $12 taxi pp/rt, $4 to get in to Trunk. It was awesome. Took us almost 1hr to St John and 50 mins back. We had plenty of time to snorkel, swim and lay around. Taxi from the dock to Trunk is only 5 mins or so.
