Switching cabins ?

A little help please , We just booked a cruise with very good friends of ours. My wife and I received the casino rate , so what we did was I booked one room with one of our friends in the same room , and my wife booked a seperate room with the other person in her room , this way they received the better rate on the cruise as well.

So my question is when is the best time to switch people in the cabins?

Is it at Check IN or once we get on the ship at Guest Services

Not sure if it will matter There CC is on my wife's room so they can pay off the cruise and they will put there CC for on-board expenses on that room during check IN

If it makes a difference we are both booked in Suites

I am hoping this will be a easy process ?

Your help is appreciated

Really you don't have to switch it on the manifest. When they go in to set up the onboard expense account they just put their credit card information in on their booking. They would list the other person in the cabin as someone without charging privileges. You would do the same on your booking. Then after you board, go to guest services and get extra room keys to your perspective rooms. Understanding that you will have to use one sail and sign card for each booking.

If you change names on the cabins you may incur a $50 per stateroom charge.

It might have been easier for you to book two rooms and have them pay you.

Oh

I thought my wife could just move into my room , and my friend can just move into the other room. ?

Then they both would have there own charging privileges and we would have are own ?

Well, there's no bed checks. You can switch rooms but you can't just go to guest services and switch your sail and sign card. (We often sail with our kids and have "split our booking" putting me in a cabin with our daughter and my husband in the room with our son.) we have had to do this when their cabin isn't within 3 doors of ours. Then when we board we go to guest services and get appropriate room keys for each person.

You should be able to link the sail and sign cards to the individual booking. (It just occurred to me because my kids are in a separate room and there cards are granted charging privileges, so that should work.) so you should be fine. They won't change the rooms, just link the sail and sign to the proper method of payment.

Was booked in one cabin with my daughter & DH and grandchildren were booked in another. When we got onboard just went to Guest Services & asked to switch my daughter & DH. They did without any fees incurred.

Perfect thank you
