Booking on board

I would appreciate some tips on what to do. We are wanting to do Disney again in 2015. Would we do better to book as soon as the rates are available or wait until we are on board the Fantasy this May? We would be looking at June 2015. TIA

Both. Book as soon as the rates come out to get the best fare. Then, when you are on the ship, you "re-shop" the reservation to see if the on board discounts/credits make rebooking a better deal.

My experience was that if DCL held the original reservation, they could roll over the deposit and handle everything while on board. If I used a TA, I actually made a new reservation and paid another deposit while on board, naming the same TA I used. When I got home, I called the TA and had her "reconcile" the reservations--fixing it so I had the cabin and dining time I wanted and canceling the "extra" reservation. This way I got all the benefits of onboard booking and kept the cabin I had.
