Question about changing booking for a certain promotion

I'm just curious....we booked a Mediterranean cruise for this summer, directly through RCCL at a time that they had no promotions going on. We got rooms we're happy with and a price we're happy with which is why we didn't want to wait for a promotion. Of course, now I'm seeing all sorts of deals with OBC and perks and feeling sad that we're missing out.

Is there any way to switch something, somehow and get any of these promotions, or are we just out of luck? I am 99% sure there's no way to do this without cancelling our current booking and starting all over again (which I don't want to do)....but I know some of you are magic with what you know! I realize that we got what we wanted, so I am happy no matter what....but some OBC or free wine never hurt anyone, right? :D

You can call RCI and ask but the same thing happened to my daughter last year. She called and was told that it applied to new bookings only and she wouldn't be eligible even if she cancelled and re-booked during the promotion dates. Royals current online promotion does say new bookings only.

I had the same issue with the Baltic cruise we are going on. 3 weeks after we booked they came up with a better promotion. My TA went back to RCI but they said I could not benefit. I then posted my issue on the RCI Facebook page and they said that I could cancel my existing booking to take advantage of the promotion but I would lose my deposit. This made it a no go.

I wonder whether it would have been a no go had you booked through the US.... I do wish there was consistency for all guests....
