When do you buy insurance?

I am booking our cruise tonight or tomorrow am. I haven't had a chance to look into the different insurance companies. What is th e deadline to purchase? Does each company vary?

All third-party plans will let you buy a policy right up until the day prior to your departure. However, most only offer some coverages (pre-existing medical conditions, financial default, cancel for any reason, etc) if you buy your policy within a time period that can vary between 14 and 30 days from the date you make the first payment on the trip.

 

Each insurer will be somewhat different. If you use a site like insuremytrip their comparison page will spell it out for you or call your preferred insurer directly.
