The calmest beach of the day

Recommended Posts

We are going to be on St. Maarten in April. We would like to go to the beach for the day, but would like the water to be calm there. Last year we went to Oriental beach and the surf was too rough, we could hardly stay on our feet in the water. Le Galeon doesn't interest us, it's too lagun-like for my taste.

The question: would the taxi driver know which beach has the calmest surf on the day of our visit?

Thank you.

Taxi drivers might know - but you can usually count on beaches on the west side of the island to be calmer: Mullet, and the beaches fronting Nettle Bay are usually fairly calm.
