kenzie Posted February 6, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 6, 2014 On my first Celebrity cruise next month, usually cruise Princess, who for the last 2 cruises have not charged anything to cash money from seacard during slot play. Being from the UK, I usually also buy casino credits in advance(you just exchange those for cash at the cage) - this way obtaining my money and exchanging from sterling at a better rate. Can you do this on Celebrity?
robtulipe Posted February 6, 2014 #2 Share Posted February 6, 2014 Yes you can buy casino credits online but you pay the same 5% service fee that is paid when one get cash in the casino by charging it to their onboard account so this will have to be taken into consideration to see if exchanging from sterling is still at a better rate. ;)
simon stingray Posted February 6, 2014 #3 Share Posted February 6, 2014 Yes you can, and I believe that the exchange rate is quite favourable. If you log into your booking on the X website, then look for gifts by Celebrity then go to delivery onboard, then onboard credit.
kenzie Posted February 6, 2014 Author #4 Share Posted February 6, 2014 From the replies above, it appears you are buying OBC not casino credit as per Princess whereby you get charged nothing. I lose enough in the casino, I do not want to "donate" another 5%- that daylight robbery!

That's for sure.:( From http://www.celebritycruises.com/bonvoyage/category/viewCollection.do?cat=ONBDCR&coll=ONBDCR Also your credit card get billed in the currency the cruise is booked in. We have our next X cruise booked in USD so that's is the currency used for billing when I try to buy OBC so there's no exchange advantage.. kenzie Posted February 6, 2014 Author #6 Share Posted February 6, 2014 Thanks for the link - well I thought I would try Celebrity and the 123 package was the ideal time, but their policy re 5% is very off putting, especially when you spend so much in the casino.
