I have sailed Disney several times without kids! They have so much to keep the kids busy that you are hardly aware of them. The great thing is that they have kid areas, family areas and adult areas, and unlike other lines, they enforce it! Likewise with the pools. I spend a lot of time in the casinos but I really didn't miss them on Disney-there's plenty to do. The cabins are excellent-even the inside ones. I have sailed all three cats-altho' no suites. The dining setup is remarkable-you really have to experience it to believe it.

There are characters on board and you just might enjoy being a kid again.:)

Glad you mentioned that. The rotating restaurant concept is unique to Disney, and such a wonderful idea. You, and your dinning room servers, move to a different dining room each night, rotating through three separate dining rooms, with three unique styles. How can anyone get bored with the MDR when there are three of them, each with it's own "flavor"?

Plus, the specialty restaurant Palo on Magic is still the best specialty restaurant we've ever been in. Some others have come close, but none have been able to top the atmosphere, the service, the food selection, and it's quality.

A few years back, we decided to do a family cruise (sister and brother-in-law with their two kids, brother and sister-in-law and their four kids, and single me).

We narrowed the choices down to Princess and Disney. I was outvoted and we booked a Disney Cruise.

I knew there'd be plenty to do for the kidsters, but I was absolutely sure I'd be bored silly. Still, I went into the experience with an open mind and I ended up having a lot of fun. There are several "adult only" areas on the ship and whenever the kids (their kids, our kids, everybody's kids) started working my last nerve, I'd find a place to chill out. There are usually several adults on board without kids (I met some), so you won't feel alone. Here's my opinion...

Pros:

Beautifully appointed ship (lovely decor)

Spacious cabins (with split bathrooms and lots of storage)

Pretty good food in MDRs and Specialty Restaurant Palo

Castaway Cay--it's a gorgeous island with lots to do. There's even an adults only beach

You are allowed to bring adult beverages on board

Entertaining shows and movies

Great spa, but they do try to upsell big time

Cons:

VERY Pricey--You'll $pend a lot

Pools are small and usually packed

There are kids everywhere, (that's kind of the point) so you have to find quiet spots

Buffet is just okay--nothing special

If you're not "into" the characters, it'll get old fast

No Casino, no gambling (not a biggie for me)

Overall, it was a fun experience for me. I had a terrific time, and I'd go again in a hot minute but for the price.
