Soundview77 Posted February 8, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 8, 2014 .....so I tried the search function here on Cruise Critic and it doesn't seem to be working. I'm trying to plan a shore excursion in Grand Cayman not through the cruise line. I'm trying to get an idea of when "rush hour" is off the FOS when it is tendering in Grand Cayman. I'd like to know in reality when I could expect to get to shore without any priorty tendering as my shore excursion will not be through the cruise line. Time in port is scheduled to be 8x4. oakonship Posted February 15, 2014 #2 Share Posted February 15, 2014 The tenders move pretty quickly once they start moving. We were on the MOS last spring and they handed out tender tickets early that morning but when we were boarding I didn't really see anyone checking to see if we were boarding in the correct order. We had an early departure with Captain Marvins so we were off on the 1st tender but I witnessed multiple tenders make it to the pier prior to us leaving Captain Marvins shop. In the end I probably didn't need to stress as much as I did! :o
cb at sea Posted February 15, 2014 #3 Share Posted February 15, 2014 As long as you don't NEED to be on the 1st tender, it shouldn't take long at all! If the times are listed as, say, 8am.....then don't plan on starting your tour until 9am...that will give you ample time and you won't need to stress! You may be able to get off way before that, but this way, you know you'll be good to go. The tender trip is only about 5-8 mins.
sunshine26 Posted February 20, 2014 #4 Share Posted February 20, 2014 Does anyone know what time the last tender is for Carnival Legend on Grand Cayman. We will be there in the Spring when the island does not follow daylight savings . Have a tour at 12:pm island time that will take over 3 hours . Don't want to worry about missing boat if last tender is around 3:30/4pm. Ship is scheduled 10-6 so I guess island time will be 9-5.
