Pic22 Posted July 21, 2005 #1 Share Posted July 21, 2005 Does anyone who has sailed on Dawn recently during the itenerary change (Nassau Overnight) what time you arrive in Port Canaveral. It was 9:00 AM, but with Itenerary change it is 10:00. Will they let you off earlier than 10:00. Just wondering as there is a Space Shuttle launch currently scheduled for 10:39 on Tuesday. This may become a mute point if it is moved back again by NASA, the view from the ship will probably be pretty good, but it would be neat to get closer, not something you see everyday. TrentS Posted July 21, 2005 #2 Share Posted July 21, 2005 You're not really going to get much closer than Port Canaveral. You're not only going to see it from the ship, you're going to FEEL it! It's an awesome experience!!!
TrinaLC Posted July 21, 2005 #3 Share Posted July 21, 2005 I believe that the Dawn is now back on its regular schedule - there is a thread on it that you can search for (or Shoreguy will no doubt chime in)
greenie Posted July 21, 2005 #4 Share Posted July 21, 2005 We were on the Dawn in May, with the overnite-in-Nassau itin. We arrived/disembarked at Port Canaveral around 10:00.
alolewis Posted July 21, 2005 #5 Share Posted July 21, 2005 The ship is the closest the public can get. I would stay on the ship until the launch (may have to due to security/safety of the launch. There is a public radio station that broadcasts the coutdown and launch, not sure of the number.

Arrival time in Port Canaveral did not change with the overnight in Nassua. It has been 10 am for as long as I can remember. Getting there ontime is directly linked to what time the ship departs NYC and the seas going down. Not unusual to be a bit late arriving.
