Transport Miami to Fort Lauderdale

Hi

 

Anyone have any tips or thoughts on the best way to get from a flight landing into Miami to the cruise ship terminal at Fort Lauderdale.

 

We will be arriving into Miami the day before the cruise so can either say in a Miami hotel or a Fort Lauderdale hotel.

 

Any ideas?

SAS is one of the companies that do transfers. They are prompt and reasonably priced.

We took the hop off/hop on bus tour in September. Toured Miami , got off in Little Havana for lunch then caught next bus. Traffic was horrendous on the way to fort Lauderdale, there were three accidents. We were glad we hadn't rented a car or risked a cab($$$) since it was over two hours in traffic. The big red bus was a relaxing way to end vacation and having them take us in a van to FLL was a stress free way to go.

Suggestions for killing time if flight isn't till 5PM in FLL and need to be off ship by 9:00AM in MIA?

Can you explain the hopon hopoff bus? Do you have your luggage with you?

When we went from MIA to a hotel in Fort Lauderdale I booked a private car. Taxi's are expensive and can cost more if there is traffic. From the ship to MIA we took the cruise line transfer $35pp. We have also taken a 'shuttle' service from a hotel in Miami to the ship in FLL. That was $25pp with a few stops along the way.

 

If you go to the Florida departure board you will find recommendations for hotels and transportation.

QLS=we used them last time and have booked again with them for next week. They were on time and I like the fact that they were callin US as soon as our shipped was docked and before we flew down, that I didn't have to hunt them down. 15.00 pp.
