GreenValleyDogWalker Posted February 14, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 14, 2014 We will be on an NCL ship - due to return to New Orleans (on a Sunday) at 8:00 AM - There are a limited number of flights out of MSY back to the West Coast - does anyone think we would be safe in booking a flight that departs at 10:50 AM - or do we just suck it up - and wait - and book on a flight that departs at 2:05 PM ? THANK YOU !!!
WLHyatt Posted February 15, 2014 #2 Share Posted February 15, 2014 When is your sailing (as in time of year)? Most times this should work, as you will be off the ship by 10am. There are sometimes delays due to weather, or navigation issues in the river like that tugboat that sunk last year that sent the Conquest to Mobile. The good thing about the Port of New Orleans is it does not close due to fog like some other gulf coast ports.
rvsullivan Posted February 15, 2014 #3 Share Posted February 15, 2014 We've cruise out of NO 5 times now on NCL and of those trips, we could have made the flight you want 3 of the 5 times. One miss was for very late arrival, noon time, the other was clearance issues getting early walk offs getting off around 9:30 or 10. Events that can affect this also are home football games and events such as Mardi Gras.
