question about snorkeling (skuba girl)

We (DH and I) are coming on the NCL Sky April13th

I want to do some snorkeling. DH is a non swimmer but enjoys the beach and boats.

I do not want to book with the ship. I prefer smaller groups..or independent beach snorkeling.

Also prefer not to have to pre pay as if the weather is miserable we will stay on ship. We just got back from a West Carib on the Jewel which was excellent...except we booked and pre paid a beach day and it was the only day that was wet and windy..the best snorkeling is no good if the water is cloudy and rough. So bad that day could not even get in the water

Can you please make some detailed suggestions for me. I am an experienced confident snorkeler

Excursions are OK if with a small group to a great spot and they don't make you pre pay..unless the weather in Mid April is typically hot and sunny, then I would be willing to take a chance. I don't think I want to do Sandy Toes just looked it up. Pretty much just want to snorkel for a couple of hours and head back to the port for a little shopping then back on board early.

Thank you

I haven't used them yet so I can't personally recommend, but do a search on Blue Hole Watersports. They seem to have gotten good reviews, they take small groups and they are within walking distance of the port (near British Colonial Hilton). They may even be able to take you without a reservation.

P.S. April is my favorite time to cruise. :) Winter cold fronts are over and hurricane season hasn't started yet.

there are very few small outfits, this one is a good suggestion.

But they do fill up quickly. I wouldn't wait til I got there.. it's likely they will be sold out.
