Sane Cows?

I'm sailing out on the Carnival Triumph next month. I hear a lot of people talk about gorging on steaks, filet mignon etc. on board. Is the on-board beef (or poultry, or agriculture) subject to USDA standards? (not that those are necessarily all that high, really).

 

I guess it would depend on where the ship is registered? Any info appreciated.

My understanding is that most (if not all) of the food is produced in the U.S. If that's true, then yes, the meat would be under the supervision of the USDA.

 

Somebody, correct me if I'm wrong about this.
