Skier52 Posted February 25, 2014 #3 Share Posted February 25, 2014 10087... Youi can judge for yourself The top row of balconies is deck 13 deck 10 is the bottom row on the picture deck 12 and 13 are definitely affected by the overhang of deck 14 here is how the overhang affects the balconies And here is how the overhang affects the "corner" baconies They are in deep shadow Pete

SeaYa52 Posted February 27, 2014 #6 Share Posted February 27, 2014 Are the angle balconies a lot smaller.....or less desirable? I got such a great rate I can not complain - but am curious. Thank you for any info.:)
Skier52 Posted February 27, 2014 #7 Share Posted February 27, 2014 (edited) Are the angle balconies a lot smaller.....or less desirable? I got such a great rate I can not complain - but am curious.Thank you for any info.:) They are much larger than standard balconies but have a limited , 90 degrees, field of view. Some people like the extra balcony area and live with the limited view. The balconies next to the "wall" have more privacey than many other balconies As you can see from the images some of the higher deck angle balconies will get virtualy no direct sun . Personally I would count that as a blessing but would miss the view as compared to other areas of the ship. camofwilliamsburg Posted February 27, 2014 #8 Share Posted February 27, 2014 We were in cabin 10080 and LOVED this cabin. It was huge and all private! I even asked the cabin steward for a chaise lounge which he said he was only allowed to bring one, but that was fine. We had one chaise lounge and 2 chairs and the table.... it was glorious. WE were on the starboard side and we got the sun shining in almost all the time. The overhang affects all the cabins since all are under the overhang. But the sun was coming right into my balcony where I laid out on the chaise and had sun on me the entire time. The angles of the sun may change but I loved this balcony. I think on the port side you would have more shade when I had sun but that would be for anyone on the port side, not just these angled balcony cabins. When standing at the rail, you can see into all the other balcony areas as shown in those pictures...but no one can see into yours!!

camofwilliamsburg Posted February 27, 2014 #11 Share Posted February 27, 2014 You will see them below but from your vantage point you will be looking out anyways and they will not bother you. From deck 10 they are far enough away that you will still see enough without them blocking. I loved that cabin and would take it again in a heart beat!
