Miami Ducks Tour

Recommended Posts

Has anyone done the Miami Ducks Tour?

Any Comments ?

Did you do it as a ship tour or under your own steam. What is it like getting a taxi round to South Beach, what is the availability of trips when you get there?

We did the Ducks in Seattle and it was great, there were loads of vehicles available and we were able to get on the next one leaving.

There appaers to be little markup on the NCL price so just wondered what people's experience was ?

Tony-

We've booked the Ducks excursion (also on the Dawn 8/14 cruise). While I can't answer how it is, I just wanted to let you know that we tried to book the 11:00 tour, but were assigned the 9:30 time. We haven't yet called to see if the 11:00 time is sold out, but if the time available affects your decision, keep that in mind.

We did the Duck Tour April /04 and had a good time. Booked through NCL because, as you said, just about the same price. We thought the convenience was worth the few extra dollars. Tour goes through South Beach with good commentary and then into the water to see some beautiful multi-million dollars homes. Hope this helps. Lisa

Yes, we've done the Duck tour. But we found it disappointing compared to the Island Queen millionaire island cruises which we did prior. With the Duck Tour you spend very little time exploring all of the multi-million dollor homes on the water because of tour time restrictions. If you take an Island Queen excursion from the Bayside Marketplace you get to see many of the more well known homes where movies were shot, famous people's homes, and the $30-50 million dollar homes. You will also get to see dolphins and/or manatees with the Island Queen.

Then after that I would just take a taxi and explore South Beach on your own.

If you are trying to save $$ the Duck tour will be alright, but you will miss out on a lot. The Duck tours are bookable online, so you can do a price comparison.

We enjoyed the Duck tour in April. There were 8 people in our group and we booked it in advance because we all wanted the same vehicle. They were waiting for us as we got off the ship. Not sure where you go to pick them up on your own. Booking through NCL was very convenient, and just a couple dollars more. Well worth it! Enjoy!
