flahagan Posted March 6, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 6, 2014 We will be on Grand Cayman for a cruise in a few weeks and would like to experience the lovely beach and water, but don't want to sit and bake in the sun. We're not interested in spending a lot of time at the beach, at most 2 hours. Can anyone suggest someplace where we might find a bit of shade, or pay to rent beach umbrellas for a half-day? cb at sea Posted March 6, 2014 #2 Share Posted March 6, 2014 All of the beach areas have chair/umbrella rentals nearby....and there are some trees, but not too many.....an umbrella rental is your best bet.
mominva Posted March 7, 2014 #3 Share Posted March 7, 2014 I also love to sit in the shade. We went to Calico Jack's (the cab drivers called it "the public beach." There is a bar and plenty of chairs and umbrellas for rent. I sat under some short trees nearby. The only bad thing is that there was trash which attracted lots of ants.
