klampetts Posted March 6, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 6, 2014 Last minute questions: Is there free transportation from the dock in Port Canaveral to Cocoa Beach? Booked the all-inclusive beach day at RIU in Nassau, what is the best way to get there - jitney? or taxi? There are 5 of us. No excursion booked in Freeport, what should we do? cruisergrandma Posted March 6, 2014 #2 Share Posted March 6, 2014 There is no free shuttle to Cocoa Beach unless you did a park & cruise package with a hotel which offered this service. How did you book your excursion in the Bahamas? Is it booked through Carnival? If so it includes transportation. If you booked independently you will need to get a taxi or some form of transportation on your own. There are plenty of options when you get off the ship. wickedhangover Posted March 6, 2014 #3 Share Posted March 6, 2014 for freeport I'd suggest here for a day pass, it's a really nice resort. http://www.grandlucayan.com Note that they don't provide towels, even if the website says they do for day passes. You also go to the guard shack for the pass, not the resort. I say this because it will save you about a half mile of walking around. For port carnival, there's plenty of shuttles when you get off the ship, i thought it was $10 each round trip but am not definite.
Green4me Posted March 6, 2014 #4 Share Posted March 6, 2014 Agree with wickedhangover on the Freeport suggestion. We toook a taxi there and had a blast, nice swim up pool bar and smooth ocean sands. Just be mindful of the return time and allow 30 minutes to get back Enjoy!
