Geocaching in Alaska?

Has anyone geocached in Ketchikan, Juneau, or Skagway?

Yes, my BIL & Sis were with us last May. Even did one in Talkeetna!! It was great fun and got us to places we would never have visited

Where is Talkeetna?

Did you rent a car in Skagway.

That is our plan, to drive to Emerald Lake.

Were there any caches in Ketchikan within walking distance of the ship?

Did you walk to do your caching in Juneau as well?

Talkeentna is about 2, 2 1/2 hours north of Anchorage.

I am headed up to Alaska tomorrow so I checked out the caches and there are lots in Juneau and Victoria and a few in Ketchikan and Skagway.

Alaska bound geocacher here (9-10-05). Since I'll be traveling solo this time, I probably won't venture out to do any caching but it sure does sound like fun and what a fabulous place to go caching.

I was just about to post a thread asking the same question. I decided to do a search first and found this thread. Lucky me! Yes! I'm a fellow geocacher. I plan on looking for caches on our first cruise to Alaska. I can't wait.

My brother & Sis-in-law live in Alaska (we're visiting them before we cruise) and they geocache (can I make it a verb like that??:p ) many weekends--all over the state!

We are also planning on geocaching on our Alaskan cruise. It looks like there are a lot of neat caches along the way. One of the benefits of caching is it frequently takes you places that only the locals know about.
