Prices for Alaska

Is anyone else shocked by the prices for Alaska this year? I mean, a "sale" where an interior is a thousand bucks for an inside with no extras for 7 days? And I thought the 3 for free was quite the hoax. Weren't they $598 before the "sale"?

 

I'm wondering if it's the "free" cruise thing--that it worked so well people aren't looking at the bottom line?

Pricing is odd. Got a flyer yesterday where a balcony was just over 1k. Look at deals, $648 inside. Look at sales, over 1k for inside.

Give it another month or two and watch for the flyers in your snail mail. Final payments are coming up soon for a lot of the cruises and once those are in, they should start offering more discounts on AK. The best prices will be on the flyers you get OR through your TA with Flash Sales.

How about the Crown Princess, June 14, 2014? It's only $598 per person for an inside plus taxes? That's better at least.

Last year it was late Jun early Jul when the really good prices came out. Hoping for the same this year.

Good advice all! I live in Seattle, so I can afford to wait :D But I have a hankering to go to Alaska again so I hope they drop.

Princess always opens the itinerary with high pricing but normally in May and again in early July there are some huge price drops...you just need to be patient and keep watching.
