Hopefully AOS has replaced Richard Spacey with a more Gay Friendly CD. We were on the Adventure last April and Mr Spacey made VERY offensive remarks in reference to the gay lifestyle and violated the RCI "Guest Vacation Policy".

 

We requested a written apology from Mr. Spacey from the senior management of Guest Services who felt was not an unreasonable request.. and Spacey declined to honor this request. He offered a "personal" apology which was not acceptable to us as guests that perhaps could experience further derogatory comments and treated differently aboard the remainder of the Royal Caribbean cruise.

 

Offers were made by the ship senior management staff for compensation in a monetary way and we were not interested because there was very little that we did not already have available to us.

 

Further contact was made with Royal Caribbean International and an honest reaslistic apologetic response was received by an Associate Vice President. In that response, it was recognized that Mr. Spacey "missed the point that a written apology would have been just as appropriate." Again, the request that we had as paying guests aboard the Adeventure of the Seas and Mr. Spacey was not willing to abide.

Please pick up the latest issue (September/October) of "The OutTraveler" and read [postCARDS]. I sincerely hope that an experience like my partner and I had aboard the Adventure of the Seas will not be repeated.
